Shunga-la-she is the fairly flat topped mountain on the left of this photo and sports an amazing view of Gibraltar Mountain and its huge cliffs.Bluerock Mountain, Mount Rose, and Threepoint Mountain complete this scene to the west. This trip was a rushed after work one and I completed 22 km in 5 hours (9 km was on a bike).Banded Peak looks mysterious in the late day light. The more I get out to the mountains, the more I am fascinated by geology. One day I hope to explore the Threepoint Mountain area more closely. These meadows were some of the most intense green I have ever seen. I am surprised how pristine this area is considering it is not in a national park. This was my first good look at Bluerock Mountain and it is definitely an impressive front range peak.June is the time of year in Alberta when incredible clouds and thunderstorms fill the sky. Volcano Ridge is on the right. Here is a wider view to the south with Shunga-la-she on the left in the shade and two outliers of Mount Burns on the right. This cloud almost seemed alive as it extended its pointy "finger" across the sky. Her's a final look to the northwest and more vivid green slopes.
