This was a strange trip as I had been up late the night before working at the Line Creek Coal Mine's new water treatment plant near Sparwood. I couldn't sleep in with a gorgeous day like this though!Crowsnest Mountain makes an appearance above the lake and ridge of the same name.I believe these are Snowshoe Hare tracks. The lighting on Mount Sentry really accentuated its form. The highway through Crowsnest Pass is in the valley bottom. Here is a closer look at Crowsnest Mountain.Mount Washburn is one of the most stunning peaks beyond the Sparwood area. Someday I hope to get a closer look. The dead trees on the ridge really gave it alot of character. The snow was quite deep, but a recent warm spell put this bizarre looking crust on it and made travel easier (snowshoes were still necessary). This unnamed peak south of Sentry was also quite eye-catching.
