I don't usually go to the mountains when the forecast is unfavorable, but this time it paid off with scenes like this. Dark skies combined with dramatic lighting on the south outlier looked amazing.Near the summit a low cloud clings to the north peak while most of the main ranges remain hidden. This is Rob ascending the final ridge to the top. The cloud rising behind him made for a surreal experience.I was surprised how cooperative this Pika was! I didn't see it at the time, but I think the shadow under its cheek looks like a smile.Another view of the south outlier with the extremely popular Prairie Mountain beyond to the upper right. This is as close to a summit shot as you can get unless you want the heli-pad or deck of the lookout in the photo.Outlaw Peak (left) and Mount Glasgow really are holding the snowpack this year! Here's the lookout complete with solar panels. This was my second time up here, but I changed it up this time by using a bike on the approach.Rob stands in front of the ridge leading to the top so I can get a last shot before we descend into the trees. We didn't get our bikes to this point, because the switchbacks were plugged full of snow. This was the worst part of the trail in the trees, most of the rest of it was actually quite rideable. Not long after this photo was taken we had to endure a fairly strong downpour.
