This was the first of many great looking dead trees on this trip. It is hard to tell from this shot that it is almost Christmas time.Junction Hill is still one of my favorite winter trips, Mount McPhail is to the left of it.The trees on this ridge seem exceptionally wind affected compared to other nearby slopes. Mount Burke is in the center of this shot.Holy Cross Mountain has some interesting strata when seen from this angle.Mount Strachen and Muir stayed visible most of this trip even though conditions around them seemed quite turbulentThe summit never broke treeline, but I was happy to be out in the mountains anyway. At least the area around the summit offered some stunning views of Holy Cross Mountain.Mount McPhail's summit never completely came out of the clouds on this trip.I like the way this photo looks even though I used the flash to illuminate the snow in the foreground.
