I had met Bob Spirko a few weeks earlier on Mount Tyrwhitt and felt privelaged to be invited to join him on this trip from one of Gillean Daffern's new books. Here is a look at Mount Wintour from the summit. The moody skies stayed with us for the entire day.Elpoca Mountain's jagged ridge looked especially forboding as it disappeared into the clouds.Bob takes in the view to the south with Gap Mountain being the most eye-catching in these gloomy conditions.Mount Wintour takes on a very dramatic look as the sun finds it through a hole in the clouds. The views from this hill were quite impressive. I am glad that Bob suggested it and I enjoyed his company on this day.The Larches seemed to be changing color more slowly this year, but they were still gorgeous.Bob sideslopes through a couple of larger Larch Trees with Mount Wintour on the right.Every year I look forward to the fall display in the high country of the Rockies.Even the southern end of Mount Wintour looks imposing.Mount Indefatigable made an appearance as we made our way back to the trailhead. This is a panorama of Elpoca Mountain and Gap Mountain as seen from the saddle below Elpoca Creek Hill.
